What Does THIS Button Do? Serverless and IoT
Serverless is cool. IoT is cool. Put them together and you have a whole mess of cool. In this session we are going to explore the coolness of IoT and serverless working together by building an application that utilizes a simple IoT button with a serverless backend powered by AWS Lambda.
Together, we will unbox the button, configure it for use with AWS IoT and set up the required security. With our shiny new IoT button in hand, we will live-code applications to show how to integrate SMS notifications and voice automation.
After this session, you will have a good understanding of how to use a serverless backend, and the flexibility it provides when building your own applications.
What will the audience learn from this talk?
Attendees will learn how to connect and configure an AWS IoT button for use with the AWS IoT service. We will explore a number of possible real-world use-cases, and demonstrate examples through live-coding.
