Extreme Digitalization in China
Chinese consumers are probably the most courted in the world and companies have to be extremely creative to catch their attention on social media platforms. At the same time they are very curious and open to try new things and test new technologies that can make their lives easier. This is probably one of the reasons why new digital business models and AI technologies like facial recognition are taking off at a unprecedented speed in China. But more importantly the Chinese government is making a big bet on AI to solve many of the future challenges in Chinese society, thus letting technologies develop in a lax legal environment without too much emphasis on ethics and privacy, but that might change.
