Bret Fisher

Bret’s a Docker Captain, a Cloud Native Ambassador, a DevOps, container, and CI/CD trainer, consultant, speaker, and content creator. For 30 years he’s built and operated distributed systems.

Starting in 2025, Bret turned his focus to finding the successful patterns that DevOps, CI/CD, and platform engineers were finding in adopting AI LLMs in their workflows. He’s now focused on consulting, training, and community building around how we can improve our SDLC beyond AI coding assistants.

For a decade, Bret’s courses, live workshops, and conference talks on containers and DevOps have reached more than 400,000 people worldwide.

For the past 15 years, he’s consulted and advised companies big and small, digging into DevOps projects and leading teams to "containerize" their apps and systems, and to improve their deployment speed, resiliency, metrics, and awareness. Much of Bret’s focus with organizations over the last decade has been automating their container pipelines. And because he’s an Eagle Scout, Bret likes to leave any CI/CD platform better than he found it (a Scout motto)🤚.

Bret hosts the “DevOps and Docker Talk” podcast, and launched the “Agentic DevOps” podcast in 2025.
